Amy Hoyes was born in Maryland, raised in Northern Virginia about 10 miles outside Washington DC. She went to Elon University and received Journalism and Business degrees. During college tenure, she traveled abroad to England, France, Netherlands and Scotland as well as several cross country trips. She also did internships at a magazine, a newspaper and worked for CBS This Morning during a semester.
After college, Amy moved to Atlanta and covered the economic impact of the 1996 Olympic Games on Cobb County for the Marietta Daily Journal. She then transitioned to working in news production for CNN. Having a desire for a more 9-5 job, she got into advertising and marketing and worked for Conde Nast Publications. She was then offered a job to be the Business Manager of a startup magazine in North Carolina.
After the birth of her first child, Amy worked in children’s ministry as a preschool teacher and then for the children’s nonprofit Harnett County Partnership for Children. She worked in the areas of Public Relations and Outreach before moving to South Carolina in 2013.
Amy started at Anderson Interfaith Ministries (AIM) in 2014, and has held the roles of Supervised Visitation Coordinator, Director of Community Engagement and now Vice President of Resource Development.
She has been married to her spouse Dale since 2002, and they have a 6 year old daughter named Camden and a 12 year old daughter named Madison. They also have 2 fur baby rescues named Max and Marley. Amy loves the outdoors, working on her fixer upper house, swimming, shopping, watching 80s movies and playing board games with her family.

The Ambassadors are a select group of dedicated volunteers who serve as the public relations arm of the Anderson Area Chamber. They assist the Chamber staff in welcoming new members into the Chamber, hosting ribbon cutting and ground breaking ceremonies, and offering volunteer support to Chamber events.
