Julie Tovey went around the world only to come back to Anderson. She lived here for years until 2002, when her husband’s work took them to France, to Lexington SC, to China, and now back here. She is originally from central California, earned her degree from Purdue University, and is now happily making a home in Williamston.
She is a member of the Greater Anderson Rotary Club and the Anderson Area Sister City Association. Julie supports United Way and volunteers with the Chamber of Commerce and at Whitehall Elementary School. She has had a long career serving children and communities in many different ways, including five years volunteering in a Chinese elementary school.
She proudly represents New Foundations Home for Children, a local organization dedicated to securing the future for children and families … whatever it takes! “At New Foundations, we offer a safe, stable, and nurturing environment, whether it be for children who stay long-term, or families looking for help at any time,” Julie said.
The Ambassadors are a select group of dedicated volunteers who serve as the public relations arm of the Anderson Area Chamber. They assist the Chamber staff in welcoming new members into the Chamber, hosting ribbon cutting and ground breaking ceremonies, and offering volunteer support to Chamber events. For more information on the Ambassador program, please contact the Anderson Area Chamber at 864-226-3454.
