The Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the U.S. Census Bureau to help achieve a complete and accurate count of our nation’s population during the 2010 Census. We are proud to be assisting in this important initiative and encourage everyone in the United States – both citizens and noncitizens – to complete and return their census forms.

As required by the Constitution to take place every 10 years, the U.S. Census counts every resident in the United States and provides a vital snapshot of our nation’s growing and changing population and demographics. Census data will guide critical business and community decisions, and will help to advance local businesses and make positive improvements in our community.   The 2010 Census will help communities receive more than $400 billion in federal funds each year for things like:

In addition, the data collected by the census also help determine the number of seats your state has in the U.S. House of Representatives.
On March 15th, census forms will be mailed to every residence in the United States and Puerto Rico. When you receive yours, just answer the 10 short questions and then mail the form back in the postage-paid envelope provided. Any personal data you provide is protected under federal law.  If you don't mail the form back, you may receive a visit from a census taker, who will ask you the questions from the form.
