BMW & People Kaizen’s Chuck Yorke, among presenters at Zoom Zone Conference.

Representatives from BMW Manufacturing’s Technical Purchasing Division will give potential suppliers firsthand information on how to tie into the supply chain during the conference sessions at the Zoom Zone Showcase on November 28th & 29th. This discussion on “Doing Business with Leading Companies” will be among several conference sessions over the two day event.

Notice of Nominees for Directors

The election of directors under the By-Laws, (Article V, Section 3), shall be selected by the Nominating Committee and published for the membership. The nominating committee has submitted the 2008-2010 slate of directors as follows: Jose Garcia, Mike Gray, Larry Linnette, John Lummus, Mike Mansuetti, Shane McWhorter, Ron Sconyers, and Maggie Waldrep. Within the specified time frame, any member in good standing may petition the chamber to become an additional nominee subject to meeting the criteria set down in the By-Laws, (Article V, Section 4). If there are no petitions for additional candidates, the official slate will be considered elected.

David and Amy Duvall allow their son, David Duvall, II, the honor of cutting the grand opening ribbon for their new ice cream parlor located at 109-A West Benson Street in downtown Anderson, formerly the home of Dickson Ice Cream Shop. The Koo Koo Ice Cream Depot is a family-friendly, sit down ice cream parlor featuring a suspended model train, train car seating booth and an activity area for the kids complete with a train table, a child’s tea table with tea set and books. The new store offers fine yarn and supplies for knitting and crochet. Plentiful patterns are available as well as needles, hooks, books, magazines, knitting bags and kits. Pazdan-Smith Group Architects, Inc. welcomes two new employees.

Mark Lusk Mark Lusk, AIA brings to Pazdan-Smith’s Campus + Community Studio 27 years of experience in architecture. Previously employed with Liollio Architecture and HarleyEllis, Mr. Lusk has served as Project Manager on a diverse range of projects, including new facilities and extensive renovations for such repeat clients as Beaufort County Schools, BellSouth, and Appalachian State University. He is a former board member of the AIA Charleston Building Enclosure Council. Mr. Lusk will be serving in a lead project and team management role for the C + C Studio.

Mary Porter Shull Mary Porter Shull joins Pazdan-Smith as a Marketing Coordinator. Ms. Shull recently relocated to Greenville from Columbia, SC, where she served as a Marketing Coordinator for Stevens & Wilkinson of South Carolina, Inc. She received a BA in English from Clemson University. She is a graduate of Leadership Columbia and is a member of the Junior League of Greenville.

Realtors, which consists of seven sales associates, brings more than 49 years of combined real estate experience to the company. It was founded in 1998 by Rozlynn Hood, who now is a 22-year real estate veteran. The team has consistently performed in the top tier of the market in production and quality service provided to customers.
