    Laneika K. Musalini is a native of Anderson, SC. She is the wife of Wadud Musalini and the mother of 4 children: Antonio, Shay, Nas and Naim.
     
    Laneika received her associate degree in business from Tri-County Technical College in Pendleton; a bachelor degree from Anderson University; a master degree in Human Resource Development from Clemson University; and a grant writing certificate from the University of South Carolina. Laneika is a member of the Grant Professional Association; Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals; and National Council of University Research Administrators, where she often serves as workshop faculty and session presenter. She has been a grants professional for more than 15 years. In her career, she has coordinated, managed and written grants in various fashions. Laneika was employed at Clemson University for 12 years. 

    Over time, she acquired expertise in both pre-award and post-award processes. In 2012, Laneika became the Director of Grants Development at Tri-County Technical College where she developed fundable proposals; administered grants and contracts; provided leadership and strategic direction for proposal development teams; and researched labor trends and funding opportunities. She has developed and led large consortium efforts for multimillion-dollar grant initiatives. She has also served as a grant-writing consultant.

    Laneika is very active in her community. She is the founder of the non-profit Women's Empowerment, Inc. She also serves on the Anderson University Alumni Board (chair), Junior Leadership Anderson Board and serves as a mentor with the Women and Children Succeeding Program. Formerly, Laneika served on the AIM Board of Directors;, South Carolina Technical Educators Association Board of Directors; Phenomenal Women Board of Directors; and TRiO Advisory Board. Laneika is also the youth choir director at her church, Tabernacle of Deliverance and Praise.

    Laneika has been blessed and honored to receive many accolades throughout the years, including the United Way Community Trailblazer Award; Athena International Young Professional Award; 20 under 40 Emerging Leaders Award; 107.3 JAMZ Upstate Black History Maker honor; Clemson University Alumni Roaring 10 Award; YWCA Women of Achievement Dream Achiever Award; MLK Jr. Excellence in Service Diversity Award; and many more.

    Laneika has accomplished a lot in her lifetime; however, none of those things would be relevant or possible if she did not have a relationship with God and carry the love of Jesus in her heart. One of her favorite scriptures is Philippians 4:13. That one scripture alone has encouraged Laneika to set goals and to strive to reach those goals. With God all things are possible!
