    The Small Business of the Year Award recognizes the accomplishments of a small business. The Small Business of the Year has that special entrepreneurial spirit, that unique marketing approach, or that special focus on the customer that results in a successful business. They do the right thing for the customer, their business by financial standards is a success and they still make time to serve the community.  
    THE CRITERIA:
    The Small Business of the Year must meet each of the four criteria.
    They must:
    - Be an active member of the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce
    -Have fewer than 100 employees
    -Locally owned and operated
    -Have completed three or more full years of operation
    COMPLETING THE FORM.
    -Nominations for the SBOY Award must be submitted using this nomination form.  
    -Due by October 14th 
    THE PROCESS
    -A selection committee of prominent community leaders will review all nomination forms and applications and select the Small Business of the Year recipient.  All applications will be kept confidential and will only be reviewed by the Selection Committee.


    Pillar of Anderson Award 
    THE CRITERIA
    -An active member of the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce
    -Local Business that has served the community for 25 years or more.
    -Long time commitment to the community.  
    The Pillar of Anderson should be a business that has been at the foundation of the business community and a leader in their field.  Additionally, this organization should exemplify a cooperative, collaborative and inclusive spirit and have been located in Anderson County for at least 25 years.  A Pillar of Anderson organization should be involved in all facets of moving all of Anderson County forward and their employees should be seen involved through volunteer service and giving of their time in service to the community.  Above all, this organization should be of the highest integrity and have sustaining and substantial presence throughout Anderson County.  Any work they do in support of the Upstate Region and State of South Carolina is given additional significance in the weight of this nomination via the selection committee review process.



    ATHENA Young Professional Award 
    The ATHENA Young Professional Award recognizes and celebrates the ATHENA mission of supporting, developing, and honoring women and men leaders who have inspired women to achieve their full potential.  The ATHENA Young Professional Award honors emerging leaders who strive toward the highest levels of personal and professional accomplishment, who devote time and energy to their community, and serve as a role model for young women.    
    THE CRITERIA
    ATHENA Young Professional Award recipient must meet each of three specific criteria. 
    -Demonstrate excellence, creativity, and initiative in their business or profession; 
    -The individual clearly serves as a role model for young women personally and professionally; 
    -Provides valuable service by devoting time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community.  
    -Under 40 years of age. 
    THE PROCESS
    A Selection Committee consisting of a diverse group of community leaders will review all nomination forms and select the ATHENA Young Professional Award recipient.  
    The ATHENA Award recipient will be announced at the Small Business Awards Luncheon.
