AccelerateSC Releases ARPA Fund Recommendations

A few highlights include: 
•  $491M for broadband expansion
•  $250M set aside for later use to fund a small business grant program or replenish the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Trust Fund should economic 
    circumstances make this necessary
•  $400M in a state matching program for water or sewer infrastructure grants
•  $72.5M for cybersecurity for water and wastewater
•  $36M for workforce development (training in critical workforce areas through the State Technical College System)
•  $15M for schools of innovation
•  $10M for an Educational Dashboard
•  $47.5M for the SC Depart of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism (PRT), primarily for tourism recovery and beach nourishment programs
•  Up to $350M to the State Ports Authority for container barge infrastructure and the Navy Base Intermodal Facility (NBIF) 
•  $50.4M for Agribusiness
•  $454M for state revenue loss replacement. $170M of this will be used to widen I-26 between Columbia and Charleston
Governor McMaster received the report and stated that he plans to deliver his final recommendations to the General Assembly in the next few weeks. The House and Senate both currently have subcommittees taking testimony and developing funding plans as well.
