DESCRIPTION:1 Mile Race ~ 5K Race ~ Pump and Run\n\n\n\nGet ready for a new type of challenge and enjoy the Electric City Pump and Run!\n\n\n\nA Pump and Run tests overall fitness by measuring both strength and endurance.  Register for just the run portion of the event or the Pump and Run portion together.\n\n\n\nIn the Pump and Run competition\, participants bench press a percentage of their body weight.  Each lift (up to a maximum of 30)\, reduces their 5-kilometer run time by 30 seconds.\n\n\n\nDepending on age\, men must bench press 60 to 100 percent of their weight\, and women 40 to 70 percent of their weight.  Fitness instructors will oversee the bench press and inspire lifters to their maximum.\n\n\n\nThis type of event will draw a large cross-section of those interested in fitness.
