DESCRIPTION:The Greater Anderson Musical Arts Consortium (GAMAC) Chamber Orchestra will present two performances of Sergei Prokofiev's classic musical tale of Peter and the Wolf on Saturday\, March 7 at 11a.m. and 1p.m. at The Belton Depot located at 50 North Main Street in Belton\, SC.. Sponsored by the Webbcraft Family Foundation\, these performances are presented for music and story lovers of all ages free of charge.\n\n\n\nWritten in 1936 to introduce children to orchestral instruments and music\, Peter and the Wolf tells the story of a brave young boy who captures a vicious wolf and saves his animal friends.  Featuring a narrator with an accompanying orchestra\, each character in the story has a particular instrument and musical theme of his very own.  Delightfully entertaining\, the story provides an inspiring introduction to string and woodwind instruments for children of all ages.\n\n\n\nThis free event is open to the public and highly recommended for families.
