DESCRIPTION:A great Mardi Gras party is coming to the Electric City on Friday\, Feb. 20\, so make plans to attend! This New Orleans themed event is a fundraiser for Meals on Wheels-Anderson and features a live band\, delicious food from your local favorite restaurants\, cold beverages and a silent auction with great items like a scooter.This event will be held at the Anderson Civic Center\, with doors opening at 7 p.m. This is a fantastic party that you don't want to miss. Beads\, boas\, and Mardi Gras style masks greet guests so you can get right into the spirit of the event. And along with a dance-party band\, guests can enjoy "street vendors" reminiscent of those in the popular Jackson Square district in New Orleans. A palm reader\, caricaturist and more will entertain throughout the evening.  Additionally\, tickets will be sold for a gift basket with hundreds of dollars worth of gift certificates included. From restaurants to gas stations to gift shops and more\, the winner of the gift basket will enjoy items all over Anderson. Tickets will be sold for $5 each or five tickets for $20. They can be purchased in advance\, and you do not have to be present to win.All proceeds from this event will help feed the 600 elderly\, homebound\, and disabled of Anderson County who receive services from Meals on Wheels. Individual Mardi Gras tickets are $35 and can be purchased online at www.ACMOW.org through Monday\, Feb. 16 or by calling the Meals on Wheels office at 864-225-6800. Tickets also are available at Draisen Edwards Music and Piedmont Honda. A limited number of tickets will also be available at the door. Tickets include all-you-can eat hors d'oeurves\, beer\, wine and soft drinks. Specialty cocktails are also available for purchase.Reserved tables are also available as a "Table of Friends" sponsorship. The sponsorship is $350 and reserves a table for eight displaying your business or group's name and includes eight tickets.The title sponsor for this event is Piedmont Automotive of Anderson\, which has been instrumental in supporting Mardi Gras in the Electric City since its debut in 2006.
