SUMMARY:Ribbon Cutting at Anderson Interfaith Ministries
DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, February 3\, at 12:30 p.m.\, the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Women & Children Succeeding (WACS) Program of Anderson Interfaith Ministries (AIM) to celebrate the dedication of their new WACS Cottage located at 1210 South Murray Avenue in Anderson.  Festivities will include an open house from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.\n\n  \n\nThe new cottage was purchased and renovated with foundation grants and volunteer efforts.  Several classes at Tri-County Technical College participated in the remodel\, as well volunteer groups from churches and businesses throughout Anderson County. In addition\, several businesses have agreed to sponsor and name rooms in the new facility.  Kristi King-Brock\, Executive Director for AIM\, says\, ''We are so excited about this expansion and the opportunity to serve our participants in a greater way.  AIM and the Women & Children Succeeding program are blessed to have so many generous volunteers who have donated their time & resources to this project.''\n\n \n\nThe Women & Children Succeeding Program connects participants pursuing higher education with holistic supportive services (such as childcare and mentoring) so they become empowered to break the cycle of poverty.
