Homeless for the Homeless provides an opportunity for people of all ages to build a “Box
City” and live in it for one night. Starting Friday, October 3-4, groups,
called “Box Families,” will stay overnight at the amphitheater sleeping in
their Box City. Each participant must raise $25, which will help
them in competing for “Richest Box City” and determine their level of funds
allocated for the poverty simulation that evening. A “Box Family”
can be any size and any combination of ages. The largest “Box Family”
will win the “Largest Population” award. The Box Cities will be
judged for creativity, safety, structure and sustainability.
