The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Mid-Atlantic Chapter, is seeking walkers and volunteers to participate in or assist with this year's annual Anderson MS Walk on May 12, 2007 at Anderson Sports & Entertainment Center. The MS Walk is an annual event to raise money and promote awareness of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). The Mid-Atlantic Chapter will host MS Walks in 18 cities across North and South Carolina in the spring of 2007, including the walk in Anderson on May 12. The chapter serves the entire state of South Carolina as well as 33 counties of North Carolina by providing programs for people living with MS and their families, and by raising money for national MS research. The 2006 Anderson MS Walk raised over $16,200. Volunteers are needed to help with festivities, food, route marking, and medic stations. There is no cost to walk, but participants are encouraged to raise money prior to the walk. All monies raised go to support programs for local clients living with MS, and MS research. For details on walking or volunteering, contact Bethany Cobb at bethany.cobb@ncp.nmss.org or 800-477-2955.
