Relive Your Childhood at the Anderson CVB
The Anderson Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has unveiled a permanent display of antique pedal cars from the 1930s, 40s and 50s. The CVB has six cars in museum-quality display cases and new cars will be displayed every three months. ''Our goal in displaying the cars is to give visitors another reason to stop into our new Visitor Center,'' said Executive Director Glenn Brill. ''Every visitor center can offer visitors brochures and information, but we can offer them a tourist attraction,'' he concluded. The pedal cars join another permanent exhibit of 30 photographs of Anderson County & the Upstate from six professional photographers.
The pedal cars are owned by Anderson resident Mike Cannon. Mike has been collecting pedal cars for 15 years and has an extensive collection which is being made available to the CVB on a rotating basis. ''I'm very excited about the opportunity to work with the Anderson CVB in an effort to help give the County and City of Anderson, SC more exposure to the general public and let the public see that we have something different to offer,'' said Cannon
