Ribbon Cutting For AIM's New WACS (Women And Children Succeeding)

Anderson Area Chamber Hosts Ribbon Cutting for AIM’s Women and Children Succeeding (WACS) Program Closet at Electritex

AIM is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of the Women and Children Succeeding (WACS) Program Closet at Electritex with a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce on September 9, 2015, at 10:00 am. This closet will give WACS participants access to professional clothing from Cato, in return for service hours, to wear while attending class, interviewing, and interning.

Because your support means so much to AIM and the Anderson community, they would be thrilled to have you in attendance.  In addition to the ribbon cutting ceremony, there will be a Check Presentation from Verizon for $10,000 that will benefit the WACS program. Refreshments will be served.

About AIM and WACS: AIM meets the needs of struggling individuals and families in Anderson County. AIM was founded 25 years ago by churches to eliminate the duplication of assistance to those in need. AIM has stabilized the community and continues to do so using its hand up, not hand out philosophy.  AIM uses the DREAM Model – Discover, Respond, Equip, Achieve, Minister. Women and Children Succeeding is a part of the Equip and Achieve lines of ministry.  WACS is a college support program for impoverished parents with children. The goal is to transition low-income families toward independent, self-sufficient, and successful families for life. To eliminate barriers of completing school, AIM/WACS provides intensive case management, supportive services, financial assistance, and leadership development.
