A state leader in advocacy for children and adults is coming to Anderson Friday, Feb. 4, to discuss the plight of South Carolina's children. Sue Berkowitz, executive director of the Appleseed Legal Justice Center in Columbia, is being hosted by the Anderson County Children's Policy Council. The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. till noon at the Healthy Futures Room at the AnMed Health Campus. The public is invited at no cost.
Her presentation will focus on the status of children in South Carolina and the role of communities as state and federal governments face drastic budget cuts.
