2nd Annual "King Of The South" Stickball Tournament
To whom this may concern, Hi, my name is Moses Baez and I am a United States Marine Corps Veteran residing in Fountain Inn, South Carolina. I am an Event Coordinator with a 501-C3 Non Profit Organization known as YoungBucks Inc based out of New York City. We are excited to announce we are hosting South Carolina's 2nd Annual King Of The South Stickball Tournament July 8th and 9, 2023 at the Anderson Mall. YoungBucks Inc was created in 2007 with its mission statement to teach inner and outer city youth positive power by playing street games, providing them a safe environment and location in the community, in addition to providing mentor ships and educating our youth on living a healthy lifestyle and lastly beating obesity one game at a time. YoungBucks Sports has also worked extremely hard with local schools, politicians, organizations and multiple communities in teaching the game of Stickball. Stickball also known as "Poor Man's Baseball" was created in the 1920's in the Northern region states of Philadelphia and New York. The game was played in the streets of New York or on black top/ concrete parking lots. A broomstick and or dowel is used as a bat along with a pink spalding ball. The game and its fundamentals are similar to baseball with positions, players on the field and its rules. The only difference is this game uses landmarks to distinguish foul or fair territories such as a sewer, buildings, street lights or a fire hydrant and cars parked on the field. In addition to the location the game is played, there is only "One Swing". Many military veterans such as myself, retired and active Police Officers will be in attendance partaking in this game. I am in communication with organized leagues from New York, New Jersey, Florida, California, San Diego, Puerto Rico looking to get teams to come and partake in the tournament. Special Guests will be Paul Horn Captain/ Fire Marshall with the South Greenville Fire District and some of its actively serving FireFighters, Greenville PD and Sheriffs. To help make this event possible, we have a few local businesses assisting with sponsorships to name a few, (Greengridiron, Clock Tower TapRoom and Billiards, Bucky's BBQ, Sportzaria). As we have received generous donations that have been provided by some of our sponsors, we will be giving away free merchandise to any one in attendance won through raffle. This event is open to the public to partake in or come out and witness first hand the game in action. We will be hosting a 5 inning youth game to get them familiar with the game and become future stickball players. I kindly ask if you take the time to look over the information provided for your viewing and consideration, along with a few youtube videos as testimonials. I am currently reaching out to all local businesses as we are looking to establish sponsorships to help this tournament take place or help with promoting the event. I would love the opportunity to meet with Management to discuss the event in its entirety and see if we can establish a professional relationship/ sponsorship. Should you have any questions arise, please feel free to reach out to me directly as my contact information is provided below. Thank you kindly for your time and consideration and hope to hear from you at your earliest convenience. Thank you, Moses Baez YoungBucks In Event Coordinator United States Marine Corps Veteran 917 868-7023
