    Pamela L. Christopher is the President & CEO of the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce. Christopher oversees the day-to-day operations of an 800+ business member organization which is dedicated to strengthening the business community of Anderson County through promotion, advocacy, connection and education. Christopher works with business partners and executives in the community to foster positive growth, facilitate positive movement, and strengthen the economic vitality of Anderson County and our region.

    Pamela Christopher is the President & CEO of the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce. Christopher oversees the day-to-day operations of an 870+ business member organization which is dedicated to strengthening the business community of Anderson County through promotion, advocacy, connection and education. Christopher works with business partners and executives in the community to foster positive growth, facilitate positive movement, and strengthen the economic vitality of Anderson County and our region. Before taking the position of President & CEO of the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce, Christopher worked as a Chamber and economic development executive to support local, regional, and state economic development efforts in three states, South Carolina, Georgia and Wisconsin. Her work focus has been in the retention and recruitment of business, streamlining processes to include business permitting, customized economic development proposals, workforce development, education and entrepreneurship initiatives, and drafting position papers and working with state and federal legislators to make a positive impact for the business community. She did so as:

    Pam is a 2004 graduate of Economic Development Institute - University of Oklahoma, 2005 graduate of the Institute for Organizational Management - University of Georgia, holds a certificate from UNC-Charlotte in both Industry Location Factors and Strategic Planning, and was awarded the Outstanding Strategic Planner by her peers.  Pam is the past President (2001) of ACCRA (American Chamber of Commerce Researchers Association), now C2ER (The Council for Community and Economic Research).  Pam formerly served on the GACCE (Georgia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives) Board of Directors, she was the GEDA (Georgia Economic Development Association) Chair of Education and Workforce Development, and subsequently the Chair of Technology Task Force. Pam is a graduate of Leadership Georgia Class of 2003 and Leadership South Carolina Class of 2018, she also has served on workforce investments boards, adult literacy boards, source water assessment plan committees, and water quality advisory committees.  Pam currently serves on the following board of directors: Anderson Area Business and Education Alliance, Anderson Sister Cities Association, CACCE (the Carolinas Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives), Imagine Anderson, Innovate Anderson, Ten at the Top, and the United Way of Anderson County. Pam is a recent graduate of Leadership Anderson Class of 32, as well as a recent graduate of The Riley Institute’s South Carolina DLI (Diversity Leaders Initiative) Fall 2015 Class.  Pam is also a member of the Anderson County Woman’s Club, the Anderson County Municipal Association, and the Upstate Chamber Coalition. Pam currently volunteers her time for Meals on Wheels and the Free Clinic of Anderson County.

    In total, Pam’s economic development track record from 1990-2011 accounts for 825 successful projects that she has worked accounting for $3,691,719,255 in capital investment and 17,050 jobs created.
     
    Pam and her husband, Larry reside in Anderson. Their oldest son Larry currently resides in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and their youngest son Jordan and his wife Ashley reside in Anderson, South Carolina.


  • Kevin Capell

    Kevin is charged with producing strong ROI (Return on Investment) that ties to the organizational goals outlined by the President & CEO through our strategic planning efforts.  He is charged with developing positive working relationships with the media, community leaders, non-profit organizations, citizens’ groups, local businesses and other key stakeholders necessary for the success of the organization.  He leads and organizes all efforts related to Leadership Anderson and Junior Leadership Anderson (JLA) programs, including serving as staff contact to Leadership Anderson Board of Regents and JLA Advisory Board.  Leads efforts in soliciting sponsorships for Chamber events and works with the President & CEO to provide an effective marketing program for our Chamber partners.

  • Kevin Capell Bio Kevin Capell Bio

    Kevin is a native to Anderson County. Kevin comes to the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce from Medicare Insurance Benefits. Kevin is a graduate of Westside High School. He received a B.S. in Business Administration from Southern Wesleyan University. Kevin and his wife, Elizabeth, have two daughters. Their family is very passionate about Anderson County. Kevin is excited to become part of the Chamber team in helping to promote and connect business through the County to ensure continued growth and success and strengthen program offerings to allow business to have a greater return on investment.


  • Shelia Owens

    Shelia is key to our organization as she leads our first impression of YOUR Anderson AreaChamber of Commerce.  She provides professional administrative support for the President’s boards and committees.  She maintains our membership referral system, to include entering the referrals into our database and generates notifications to our members.  Prepares our prospect and new member packages and coordinates and maintains the member referral system in conjunction with our events and marketing departments.  Quarterly Shelia gathers and submits necessary information for the ACCRA Cost of Living Index reporting.  She is a wealth of information for resources or contacts you need in Anderson County.  She also prepares Certificates of Origin and Affidavits and coordinates notary services.  Shelia coordinates all of our ribbon cuttings and truly manages the front door to our community.


  • Britton Rodgers

    Britton leads and manages our communications and marketing, as well as public relations functions through internal and external relations.  She specifically leads and manages the Chamber website and all mass communication services, generates publication materials and promotions for all departments of the Chamber, develops and manages event promotion and sponsorship recognition on the Chamber website and maintains a strong collaborative relationship with the press/media to increase coverage for the Chamber.  She issues press release/packets when applicable, designs advertising materials and determines placement of advertising, develops our weekly e-newsletter, and develops an annual marketing plan for specific programs of the Chamber.  She leads our social media presence and all video and photography.  Britton works to ensure that our Chamber publications and programs have our unique brand.

    At a young age Britton has always had a love for design and being artistic but it was not until her first job at the Anderson Arts Center where her love grew for graphic design and art. With her creative mind and outgoing personality, marketing is where she thrives! Britton is a proud graduate of Clemson University and has her Bachelors of Science in Parks, Recreation & Tourism Management with an emphasis in Travel and Tourism and Marketing.  Britton was raised in Anderson, SC and is excited give back to her community through design.  Britton enjoys spending time with her husband, baby & dog-- Josh, Hyatt & Nash! OH, and of course, pulling for her favorite team!! GO TIGERS!

    Natalie works with our President & CEO to maintain our member database functions for our members and for invoice tracking and processing to our database for our organization.  She additionally plans and executes our Chamber events and special programs such as our Chamber Ambassadors, Anderson Rising (Young Professional Program), Chamber Annual Meeting, Small Business Luncheon, Golf Outing and State of the Economy program.  Natalie has direct oversight of the Business Advancement Committee and works with them to plan out our regular events like Toast ‘n Topics speaker programs, Business-2-Business leads programs, Electric City Women’s Brunch Series, and our Seminar/Education programming throughout the year.

    Hugh and Rita Burgess as Membership Specialist contractors work to acquire new members and retain 
    existing members and, when appropriate, sell Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce programs and 
    services to existing member and non-member firms. Together they are outstanding representatives for the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce and as such they attend meetings and functions where member and prospect contacts may be made.  As a long-standing member of the Chamber’s Industry Management Forum Committee, Hugh was an Industry Leader in Anderson County and continues to promote forward the many facets of the Chamber that can help our members acquire a tremendous ROI (Return on Investment) in their Chamber membership.
