The Anderson Jockey Lot second annual Chili Cook-off Charity Event is
scheduled for March 15.
The public is invited to attend the event, which is set to run from 11 a.m.
to 3 p.m. at the Jockey Lot at 4530 U.S. 29 North in Anderson County.
A person may bring canned and dry goods to donate to receive free tickets.
The donor then may use those tickets to vote for his or her favorite chili. The
“peoples’ choice” winner will be whoever receives the most tickets. The
first-place prize is $1,000, second place $500 and third $250.
All donations will go to local food pantries or local charities.
The $25 entry fee will be refunded to the applicant as long as the person
attends the cook-off. Live entertainment and children’s activities are planned
as well.
