*** Important: Application must be filled out completely and delivered to the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce no later than Friday, August 2, 2013 ****
Applications are being accepted for the 30th class of Leadership Anderson, and the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce invites you to join hundreds of well-informed individuals that have participated in this signature Chamber program. If you are interested in making a difference in your community, being one of the doers in Anderson County instead of one of the watchers, and helping to determine the path Anderson County will take next - then Leadership Anderson is the launching pad for your success.
Leadership Anderson is a leadership development program facilitated by the Chamber’s Leadership Anderson Board of Regents to inform a corps of committed and qualified individuals about our community’s past, present, and future, as well as its problems, challenges and future direction. By taking an intense look into the issues affecting Anderson County, Leadership Anderson prepares and motivates participants to provide quality, dynamic leadership within their community. Beginning in 1984, the program has graduated nearly 700 men and women to assume positions of leadership in the community - including Michael Cunningham, Vice President of Advancement for AnMed Health; Carol Burdette, President of United Way of Anderson County; David King, of Sullivan-King Mortuary; Carey Jones, of Main Street Program and C3 Elder Care; and many more.
Graduates of Leadership Anderson Class XXIX at their graduation ceremonyLeadership Anderson is a 10-month commitment which begins with a two-day retreat, followed by eleven full-day sessions that take place once a month to explore issues and topics important to Anderson County. During the sessions, class members have an opportunity to meet leaders from different sectors of the community, hear from the experts on various topics and take trips throughout the county and state for a first-hand look at agencies. The program begins in September with a class retreat and concludes in June with a graduation celebration.
