Learn More About the History of Clemson University
Ever wonder how the traditions of Clemson University evolved? Noted Clemson University Historian Dr. Jerry Reel, will address this question and many more on Wednesday, September 3, at 1 p.m. at the Anderson County Museum.
Since opening its doors in 1893, Clemson University has had a major impact on Anderson County and the whole state of South Carolina. Dr. Reel will discuss 115 years of Clemson history and how the University impacts the upstate.
The Anderson County Museum is at 202 East Greenville Street in downtown Anderson. The Museum is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary and will be hosting several special events throughout the year. The Fred Whitten Gallery and Museum Store hours are Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Reading and Research Room is open 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursdays. Admission is free, but donations are welcome.
