''Shakin' the Southland''
On Friday evening, October 19, Blue Key Honor Society will host the 51st annual Tigerama. This year's pep rally, ''Shakin' the Southland'' will showcase the ways in which Clemson University makes an impact on the South East and the rest of the world.
The celebration begins at 5:30 pm on Littlejohn Lawn with ''Tailgate Tigerama''. The Clemson University Alumni Association along with Blue Key would like to invite alumni, community members, students and fans alike to come out and enjoy entertainment provided by the Clemson Steel Drum Band, the Rally Cats and many more. There will be free food and plenty of fun for everyone.
Doors to Littlejohn will open at 6:30 pm. This year, Tigerama will feature skits from student organizations, the Clemson Cheerleaders, Rally Cats, Tiger Band, TigerRoar, the crowning of Miss Homecoming and a special feature by a few lucky Clemson students.
The Emcee for the evening will be life-long Clemson fan and former Miss South Carolina, Mrs. Jane Jenkins Herlong. Mrs. Herlong is a professional speaker and has hosted numerous events. Mrs. Herlong's husband is an alumnus of Clemson and she currently serves on the Clemson University Student Affairs Board of Advisors.
Tickets are $6 in advance and $8 at the door. Tickets are available on campus at the Hendrix Student Center, the University Union, the athletic ticket office at Memorial Stadium, Littlejohn Coliseum box office and the Alumni Center. Tickets are available in downtown Clemson at Mr. Knickerbockers, The Athletic Department and Tiger Sports Shop.
Proceeds from the student run pep-rally go towards the Tigerama Scholarship Endowment Fund for Clemson University students.
A spectacular fireworks show will follow Tigerama to end the evening of homecoming festivities.
Get ready to ''Shake the Southland'' with thousands of your closest friends for an evening of pride, tradition and excitement!
