South Carolina’s annual Sales Tax Holiday returns on August 4 – 6, according to the SC Department of Revenue

During tax-free weekend, shoppers can purchase an array of school supplies and not have to pay the 6 percent state sales tax

Shoppers will pay no sales tax on clothing, shoes, book bags, and computers. Items such as jewelry, cosmetics, eyewear, furniture, and layaway purchases are not tax exempt
