A Daughter's Love
In 2012, Yolanda Archuletta moved from Santa Fe, New Mexico to Augusta, Georgia to help her mother and father through her mother's surgery. Little did she know that her desire to help would reach longer and farther than one surgery. She chose to stay close to them as she searched for a job. In June 2013, she became the new Director of Family Promise and moved to Anderson. Four months later, her father suffered a heart attack and she was called home to be with her mom. Miraculously, her father survived and has recovered to be better than ever.
To Yolanda. her parents are her heroes. They inspire her with a faith that endures the most trying circumstances and a love that is truly unconditional. When asked to dance in the Dancing for Our Heroes event, she chose her hero...her father...to be her dance partner.
Keeping It in the FamilyYolanda and her father Alex "Archie" Archuletta will dance to raise money for homeless families in Anderson County. They will compete in Dancing for Our Heroes, a fundraising event presented by the Greater Anderson Rotary Club at the Civic Center of Anderson. Based on "Dancing with the Stars", this competition is evaluated not only by judges but by donations. The couple raising the most "votes" or dollars wins the "People's Choice Award". They want to win that award and need your help to do so.
Donations may be mailed or given online. Make checks payable to Family Promise of Anderson County and mail to PO Box 1466, Anderson, SC 29622. To pay with a credit card or a PayPal account, go to http://www.familypromiseanderson.org and click on the "Donate" button on the homepage.
