West African Clothing: The Process, Product, and Beauty

Dr. Tommy L. Watson, associate professor of music at Anderson University, will present a lecture on January 23rd at 2:00PM at the Anderson County Museum. The lecture, entitled, West African Clothing: The Process, Product, and Beauty will include a sizeable display of West African clothing, and will focus on the manufacture, significance, and finery of West African apparel. Dr. Watson will also show footage of his 2008 trip to West Africa, discuss some of the common fauz pas associated with wearing traditional African garb, and show the proper way to wear a head wrap.
