• Tickets on sale now for upcoming Night for the Museum

Join us for a magical evening to benefit the Belton Area Museum Association on Thursday, March 15, beginning at 6:30 PM.

Complete with cuisine, wine, Spanish music, and good-natured competition, the event’s tickets are available now for the upcoming Spanish themed fundraiser Ole! A Night for the Museum.  The event will be held at the historic Belton Train Depot.

“This silent/live auction should prove to be fun and competitive with a great payoff in the end since so many wonderful items will be up for bid,” said Events Committee Chairman Rex Maynard.

Included in the bidding will be an MSW Security System,  leather recliner donated by Maynard’s, getaways to special vacation spots, golf outings, dining and party packages, jewelry, antiques, Greenville Drive tailgate, stay-cation packages, and services such as salon/spa treatments, auto detailing, and sporting/dance/music lessons.

Items of interest will be included in both the silent and live auction bidding.

A week’s stay at a magnificent villa in a gated community in Manzanillo, Mexico, overlooking the Pacific Ocean will be offered to some lucky guests. Spectacular golf (Las Hades, Isla Navida, El Tamarindo) and deep sea fishing trips are available in the area. The villa includes 5 luxury bedroom suites, two pools, spa, and chefs, maids and service staff to make you feel like one of the rich and famous.

“Another exciting offer is the Combo Kings have agreed to play a concert for a private party to whoever bids the highest,” stated Abigail Burden, BAMA Executive Director.

An updated list of auction items will be available at the Belton Area Museum Association’s Facebook Page.

Ticket outlets in Belton include the Historic Belton Train Depot, Clinkscales Drugs, and  Maynard’s Home Furnishings.  Tickets are $25 each and include complimentary drinks, beer, and  Spanish wine, heavy hors d’oeuvres prepared by J, R, and J Eats, a bidding card, and lots of fun competition among bidders.

Decorations and floral design will add to the enchanting evening, compliments of Southern Twist Floral and Gifts. Native son Johnny Culwell, an accomplished guitarist, will entertain with Spanish guitar music prior to the bidding led by David Mears Auctions.

Proceeds benefit the Belton Area Museum Association and its programs.  With nearly 10,000 visitors to the museum each year, BAMA offers historical, cultural, and educational programs free of charge to the public.  Participation in this fundraiser will help BAMA preserve, protect, and display our area’s historic treasures.

The event is being presented by IMS-Belton, and sponsored by Anderson Independent-Mail, Belton Industries, Maynard’s Home Furnishings, Clinkscales Chevrolet, and Superior Engineering.
