National Employment Update

National Employment Situation
Last Friday, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released an employment situation summary. According to the report:
•  Total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 559,000 in May.
•  The U.S. unemployment rate declined by 0.3 percentage points to 5.8 percent.
•  Notable job gains occurred in leisure and hospitality, public and private education, and health care and social assistance.
